What you had to tell us

We asked... "Can you tell us why you gave that response?"

The system changes have ruined the caring ethos of this doctor's surgery. When there is no future appoinments to see you named GP; nothing is available right up to December 14th one has to wonder why advertise having a named GP when in reality it is a battle to see that GP. The fact everytime you phone the surgery you are told the other doctors can see your record to assist is the normal process. Some older patients with personal health issues (bladder) may not be comfortable talking to someone they hardly know about such a personal issue. What is the realistic waiting time for an appointment with your named GP?

Following a routine visit to a nurse, she asked a doctor to see me, and he did within minutes even though it was after 6. Dr Wong was thorough and thoughtful, as he is whenever he sees people, and very helpful, giving advice which really helped, especially as we were due to go on holiday the next day.

We had a medical emergency and had to cancel a pre-arranged (non-related) appointment 15 minutes before it should have happened, instead requesting a duty doctor call. The surgery were fine about that, and the doctor we should have seen rang about an hour later. Within a couple of hours, the emergency doctor service visited at home, gave a prescription and three hours later the patient was up and mobile again. This is a fantastic service, a real life saver, and everybody we speak to who goes elsewhere is amazed at how good our GP Practice is.
